Key Messages
Open to All training has 10 Key Messages:

1.
Participating in the arts is good for your mental health.
2. Creative expression is beneficial for everyone's mental health.
3. We are ALL capable of stigmatising and discriminating against people with mental health problems.
4. The public sector duty requires active promotion of equality of opportunity.
5. We all have a right to engage with arts & culture - museum & gallery staff are responsive to ensure people with mental health problems can exercise this right.
6. It's not just about improved access - it's about active participation.
7. Groups/activities solely for people with mental health problems reinforce segregation - access is needed for all.
8. Through participation working museums and galleries can build the bridges to support the community.
9. We are all different. Recovery is an individual journey. There is no "one size fits all".
10. Stress, depression and anxiety are the cause of more working days lost than any other work related illness. Museums and galleries should be mindful employers, with a positive and enabling attitude.
